“My trip to Peru with Highland Adventures was nothing short of magical. At home, I am a planner so when I am on vacation it is hard to let loose and live in the moment. However, with Highland Adventures, everything was planned for me and I did not have to do any of the thinking, worrying, or navigating. My itinerary was packed with just the right amount of activities to enjoy everything Lima, Cuzco, and Aguas Calientes had to offer, while still allowing me time to explore the cities on my own. Every tour guide we were set up with was professional, kind, and, more importantly, passionate about Peru's history. All transfers were prompt and efficient. The hotels we stayed at were cozy, comfortable, and walking distance to markets and restaurants. Hiking the Inca Trail, although difficulty, was luxurious! We were cooked fresh, local meals and enjoyed every bite and our tents were set up long before we arrived at the campsite. Before my trip to Peru, I did not think of myself of much as an adventurer, but after my first trip with Highland Adventures, I can say that I am! I can't wait to book my next trip. ”

The Inca trail and Machu Picchu were the highlights of our adventure. We were 11 people with 3 guides and 15 porters, plus a chef. They all worked real hard to provide the best service. “Everything went perfect. Your local team was absolutely impeccable. I was happy with all the accommodations: in Cuzco, Aguas Calientes, and the campsites on the trail. Every transfer was perfect. I also appreciate the way Highland Adventures built up the tour, because it showed me many things that I was in hindsight grateful for, but did not know upfront that I would want to see them. The museum tour in Lima, and the sites around Cuzco such as Saqsaywaman were great. But most important of all was that extra day at Machu Picchu to climb Huayna Picchu. None of my colleagues on the trek had the luxury of a second day. I was so grateful I did. I was able to arrive early in the morning of the second day and had several hours of Machu Picchu to myself, before the afternoon crush of tourists. Then a spectacular climb up Huayna. So, thanks again, for taking my skeletal idea of an adventure and putting the meat on the bones to flesh it out. If I had it to do over again, I would not change a thing, except perhaps add a third day at Machu Picchu. I will keep you in mind for my next adventure, and would gladly recommend you to anyone.”

“The trip was absolutely incredible. It was better than I could've planned and executed, which says a lot. We arrived in Lima early and our guide was there to welcome us and get us to our car with a driver. Each day, there were messages at the front desk of our hotels informing us as to what time a new guide and driver would be there to pick us up for our next adventure. We had plenty of leisure time, but the tours were magnificent. Nearly the entire trip we had a private guide and a private driver. The hotels were first class (we upgraded a few) and honestly, there was not one hitch in the entire trip. My friend spent the eve of her 62nd birthday hiking in Machu Picchu while staying at the Sanctuary Lodge! We both returned home, well rested after a trip of a lifetime. All thanks Highland Adventures.”

“What a wonderful experience. Great personal attention! I can't say enough wonderful things about your team during the Inca Trail portion. Each night our tents were setup and ready. The meals were as good as any restaurant. The first night they actually went down to the river and got fresh trout for dinner. “Our experience was truly a once in a lifetime event. If any vacation could be considered perfect, far exceeding our expectations, this was it!! Not even one disappointment. All of the guides were great and always showed up on time and ready to go with excitement. We loved Ecuador and Peru, theyre both incredible. Machu Picchu was amazing. I cant even describe how miraculous the Galapagos Islands are. Its unlike anything weve ever seen or experienced a trip I would recommend for anyone interested in nature at its best. The Alta was the perfect size only 14 guests on board. The naturalist onboard was just as amazing as the islands. The snorkeling was great a bit cold, but swimming with sea lions, sharks, penguins and turtles was quite incredible. We met some wonderful people and hope to keep in touch for years to come. We cant thank you enough for creating such a memorable vacation for us.”
