This adventure will allow you to experience two of the most unique locations in the world: Galapagos Islands, Ecuador and Machu Picchu, Peru .

During this adventure you'll explore Peru's amazing citadel of Machu Picchu, Cuzco and the Sacred Valley. Then you will enjoy seven nights aboard one of our deluxe Yachts exploring many of the Galapagos Islands.

Overall this 18 days package provides the greatest exposure to the two most visited areas in South America.

This adventures requires a Monday or Thursday arrival in Lima, Peru.

When to Travel Seasons

 
Itinerary


Day 1: Lima

Welcome upon your arrival in Lima.  Transfer to your hotel in the famous Miraflores neighborhood.  If time permits, we can arrange for a visit to some of Lima’s cultural sites or just relax while exploring Miraflores at your own pace.

Day 2: Lima

During the morning you will enjoy a guided city tour of Lima.  In the afternoon you will visit the famous Larco and Archeological museums.  Enjoy the rest of the evening before your flight to Cuzco early tomorrow morning. (B)

Day 3: Lima / Cuzco

Upon arriving in Cuzco (11,152 ft.), our guide will take you to the hotel where you can spend the morning resting and acclimating to the altitude. In the afternoon you will enjoy a group guided tour of Cuzco with its ancient cathedrals and amazingly crafted Inca walls. You will also visit Cuzco's nearby ruins; Kenko, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, Saqsaywaman. (B)

Day 4: Cuzco / Sacred Valley; Pisac & Ollantaytambo / Cuzco

Today you will visit the Sacred Valley (9,350 ft.) and experience the rich colors of its traditional towns and ruins. Through the scenic countryside we will make our way to the town of Pisac to visit the town's colorful market. Before returning to Cuzco, our afternoon will come to a close at the town of Ollantaytambo. Here, you will visit the site of the beautiful rose-colored stone ruins where the Incans fought against the Spaniards. (B, L)

Day 5: Cuzco / Machu Picchu

Early morning transfer to board the train (upgraded to Vistadome) to Machu Picchu (7,875 ft.). During the trip you will enjoy great views of the mountains, river and sometimes a glance of the awesome Condor. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes you will begin a guided tour of Machu Picchu.  Lunch will be served at the famous Sanctuary Lodge.  We will descend to Aguas Calientes in the late afternoon where you can enjoy a relaxing evening. Day 6: Machu Picchu / Cuzco

Free day to return to Machu Picchu (re-entry fee and transfer included). You might want to wake up early and take some pictures from the Puerta del Sol in Machu Picchu. Today is also a great opportunity to climb Wayna Picchu. In the afternoon we will return by train to Cuzco.  Transfer to your hotel upon arrival in Cuzco. (B)

Day 7: Cuzco

Today explore Cuzco and your own pace.  Is the last day for shopping and visiting again your favorite sites. (B)

Day 8: Cuzco / Lima / Quito

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Lima's international airport and then to Quito, Ecuador. Upon arrival in Quito you will be transferred to your hotel. If time permits we may be able to arrange for a tour on your own of Quito’s neighborhoods and museums. (B)

Day 9: Quito

Today you will enjoy a guided city tour of the cobblestones of colonial Quito and a visit to the Middle of the World monument. For an additional fee you can visit the Cotopaxi volcano. (B)

Day 10: Quito / Galapagos

Following an early breakfast, we transfer you to the airport for your flight to the Galápagos Islands stopping briefly in the coastal city of Guayaquil en route. The turquoise blue water surrounding the coast is visible from the air, and it’s not long after passing through Park Inspection that you will be crossing from shore to reach your yacht and home for the next week. While settling into your cabin and surroundings, you will meet your guide and crew, and then set out on your first landing. (B, L, D)

Days 11 thru 16: Galapagos Islands Cruise

No matter which yacht you choose, the next few days will be among the most memorable of your life as you cruise the Galápagos Island, visiting many of the same places Charles Darwin did over 150 years ago. You will be amazed at just how many peak experiences you will have each day in this fabled archipelago. (B, L, D)

Day 17: Galapagos / Quito

After a final morning visit to a landing site, our cruise comes to an end and we return to port for the return flight through Guayaquil and on to Quito. Transfer back to your hotel. (B)

Day 18: Quito

Today you will be transferred to Quito's international airport. (B)

The above land package price is for groups of 2 or more and includes:

- All hotel and/or cruise accommodations (double occupancy).
- Additional fees apply for single occupancy or holiday departures.
- Meals as indicated in the itinerary (B: breakfast, L: lunch, D: dinner).
- All sightseeing as shown as part of an open group (private tours available).

- All gratuities except to guides.

Not included: personal expenses such as beverages; lunch (unless in the itinerary), dinner, laundry; travel insurance; excess baggage fees; communication charges; international airfare, domestic airfares, flight to Galapagos (aprox.: $390/pp), airport departure taxes (aprox.: $20/pp), entrance to Galapagos National Park (aprox.: $100/pp), cost of obtaining passports or visas, gratuities to guides, and any other expense not stated above.
