During this adventure you will get an amazing taste of what Costa Rica has to offer. From white water rafting and hot springs to sea kayaking and canopy/zip lining, our Fascinating Costa Rica program will deliver an amazing experience full with adventure and excitment.

Itinerary


Day 1 - San Jose

Upon arrival in Costa Rica you will be transfered to your hotel in San Jose. Feel free to explore this city on your own. If time permits, we can schedule a city tour of San Jose (optional).

Day 2 - Pacuare Whitewater Rafting - Arenal

Today we will travel to the Pacuare River for a full day of white water rafting trip. This river has been officially declared a Wild and Scenic River, and offers some of the finest white water in Latin America. Breakfast on route and lunch will be served along the river. We wil return to our hotel in the Arenal area where you can relax after a full day of adventures. (B, L)

Day 3 - Arenal

A late afternoon visit to the trails of El Mirador. Later you will enjoy a relaxing afternoon bathing in volcanic thermal mineral pools and dinner at Tabacón Hot Springs. Arenal Volcano is breathtaking after dark when its thundering explosions and bursts of glowing rock light the night sky. (B, D)

Day 4 - Arenal / Monteverde (Cloud Forrest)

Today we will travel to Monteverde by boat accross Arenal Lake follow by a mini-bus ride. Monteverde was founded about 40 years ago by a small group of conservation-minded Quakers who were looking for a peaceful place to live. Its Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most outstanding wild life sanctuaries in the tropics. After check-in feel free to enjoy a walk and experience the amazing mist of Monteverde. (B)

Day 5 - Sky Trek-Tram

Morning visit to the Sky Zipline & Tram facilities. The Sky Trek is a system of seven platforms suspended above the ground in the middle of amazing flora. Zip lines attached from one platform to another will allow you to feel as if you were part of this amazing cloud forrest. Free in the afternoon for optional tours such as horseback riding or a guided visit into the reserve (additional fees)). (B)

Day 6 - Monteverde / Carara

After breakfast we will depart towards the Central Pacific Coast to the Carara Biological Station. The afternoon is free to explore the local surroundings. (B)

Day 7 - Kayak in Agujitas Beach

This morning you will be driven to Agujitas Beach to start an exciting sea kayaking adventure. Imagine yourself cruising silently past spectacular cliffs full of pelicans and frigate birds in a craft pioneered by the Polynesians and perfected for tourism here in Costa Rica. The warm waters of the Pacific are home to a large variety of tropical fish that are looking forward to swim with you as you snorkel and explore the underwater world with your guide. Return to Villa Lapas Hotel. In the afternoon explore the fauna and flora of the Carara Biological Reserve while you walk on the hanging bridges of the private reserve of Villa Lapas which borders to Carara. (B, L)

Day 8 - Carara / San Jose

Private transfer back to San Jose, either to the airport or extend your stay in Costa Rica.

Price: 8 days / 7 nights from $1,395

The above land package price is for groups of 2 or more and includes:

- All hotel accommodations (double occupancy).
- Additional fees of $300 apply for single occupancy.
- Meals as indicated in the itinerary (B: breakfast, L: lunch, D: dinner).
- All sightseeing as shown as part of an open group (private tours available).
- Services of local professional guides.
- Airport transfers.
- All gratuities except to guides.

Not included: personal expenses such as beverages; lunch (unless in the itinerary), dinner, laundry; travel insurance; excess baggage fees; communication charges; international or domestic airfares; airport departure taxes, cost of obtaining passports or visas, gratuities to guides, and any other expense not stated above.
